DDSkills Conference: Innovative Technologies to Support Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

On 9 January, the DDSkills consortium held a transnational project meeting in Ireland. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the state of play of the pilot training in each country, the content of the toolkit and how to best use it, as well as the evaluation process for each unit, and the procedures to provide certification.

On 10 January, the DDSkills partner National University of Ireland (NUI - Ireland) organised a hybrid Conference on innovative technologies to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). During the first part of the event, the DDSkills partners provided an overview of the project, including the aims, deliverables and current status.

The second part brought relevant speakers in the field of new technologies, to present other cutting-edge technological research and projects which can enhance lives of individuals with ASD and ID. ​The speaker from LuxaI provided an overview on QTrobot and how to use it to build language and communication Skills to Children with ASD and other special needs. The Animated Language Learning (ALL) presented the Revolutionary Digital Therapy, for the diagnosis and treatment of childhood neuro-developmental disabilities,​ and SeamlessCARE presented their Mobile app and API.

The session finsalised with the presentation on the SPAUT project, aiming at facilitating the participation in sport and physical activities of adolescents with autism.

The hybrid conference brought a total of 64 participants from different countries.
